How To Change Mta Serial Number
05.12.2020 admin
Marc,
The tractor you have taken in has been up-dated to an MTA.
The serial number list on my website came from the archives and has proven very reliable over the years. There were 3,225 MTAs made and 420 MTs. I would call this low production, but selling prices here in the states do not generally reflect my opinion.
In general the early MT was a steel wheeled low compression tractor with a dry type air cleaner and small serial number plate like yours has. The small tags said Twin City Tractor and was stamped MT. Engine tag was stamped KE.
This machine is a Twin City design and was not engineered by MM. It was merely assembled and sold by MM after the 1929 merger took place. Most of the early MTs did have the TC on the radiator and not the MM.
After the first 400 or so? were built,
MM claimed this tractor as their own and went about up-dating them with high comp. heads, oil bath air cleaner, and a new serial number plate that was larger and had a big MM in the background of the whole plate. The bigger plate was now stamped MTA and engine tag said KEA. Spoked wheels for rubber tires from French & Hect were available and soon enough the cast center with rim was produced.
In my old hand written files somewhere I have an MM manual that has a bit of info on this change over from MT to MTA.
As best I recall, it said something about the last few MTs with KE engine would now be refered to as KEA..?
It certainly looks as though the A may have been added in later on your tractor?
Here are pictures of small early MT tag (like yours) and late large MTA tag for you to compair with.
I would think that machine would sell good on your side of the planet because there cannot be very many over there.
Good luck!
Tony

- Changing the serial number on the system board will make no difference in the performances. It is just a 'label' and does not affect how the computer runs in any way. Check the web site of your system board's maker. They usually have a special utility you have to run to change the serial number on the system board.
- Apr 28, 2012 there is way to change it without even reinstalling mta cause it takes serial from hardware configuration, i tried to change it but i didnt have sucess Share this post Link to post.
- For a Metropolitan Transportation Authority Reduced-Fare MetroCard (RFM). Change of Address:Notices. Have the card at hand so you can read the serial number.
- This is very important! You will need your serial number to report any problems or to verify ownership if it is lost or stolen. If your card is not registered or you didn't record the card's serial number, we can't replace your card. Read Metro Transit's terms and conditions.

It was possible to avoid serial ban on MTA by changing your registry. But however, not anymore. They patched it already. There's a program to change your hardware serial code, but you'll have to buy it. They don't give free trials and such.
